Sometimes people just pop into your life.....

I wrote this to a very close friend of mine this evening but I feel it is worth sharing.

Tonight, a Sergeant in the army stopped by our house in his BDU's. He had business to do with my husband. Anyways, it was dinner time so we invited him to eat with us. We had pork roast, green beans, rice and gravy. Very, very nice man and we had great conversation this evening. We have met him a few times before. He is alone with no family. We heard about this I think the last time we met him and my husband invited him for Thanksgiving dinner. He found out this evening that we do not have any of our kids for Thanksgiving so he figured why would we go through all that bother. Why, because Thanksgiving means more to me than just dinner, just like Christmas means more to me than just presents. I told him that he may be the only one here but he will see that I cook for an "army." You never know who is going to show up. Everyone is welcome in my home at Thanksgiving. He told me of a retired vet of his with no family would we mind if he came. The more the merrier. Especially, on that day everyone is family. I always felt that people come into my life for a reason. I may never know the reason but it is certainly an experience and memory. I feel so blessed.

Our table has always been open. Not just for Thanksgiving or Christmas. I could never understand how my grandmother did it. We never knew who would be showing up for dinner. She always had enough food for everyone and we were extremely poor. Not one person left that table hungry. Sometimes I wonder myself how I do it. It must of rubbed off from my grandmother or she is looking over me. ♥

My friends response was this:
THE BREAD AND THE FISHES N THE BIBLE....HE WILL PROVIDE...♥
Just wanted to share.
((((hugs))) and have a wonderful night,
